okay I am happy to announce a new reverb plug-in.

Forget my old reverb checkouts....
I`ve reworked the stuff from scratch with better algo design...

Much work has gone into it ! :P

Now with more friendly surface and small manual !
Special care was also done about DSP usage. So its pretty low on the DSP hit :)

Have fun ! :)

I drink a toast to hifiboom. Obviously conatact with his own species is disappointing, as he does nothing but Flexor, and SDK devives.

If you seek eversion this weekend, get a nice blasting horn section snippet, and run it through your plate reverb. Now imagine that with the same quality you have made with a percentage based gate added !!

That's the sound that many expensive reverb units fail to incorproate. I have a Q20 that does this via ADAT into Scope. But I'm sure many members here would love to use that on some material somewhere.

On big sounding ballsey horn sections that have fierce staccato abilities, it is the ultimate, and makes a 4 piece sound so large.

Damn that's the ticket for my new Screaming Trumpets Library. I only hope that I can utilize it live w/ SFP live. I have heard of the bandwidth troubles and reverb, and since I use several types of delays, I only pray that I can squeeze it in. If not at least I know I can record with it.

BTW the simpleness of the GUI is appreciated also. Ceratain Reverbs do nort need such excessive parameters.

Thanks HFBm,

btw Jimmy

what exactly do you want...

There are two types of gate reverbs..

(1)the phil Collins Snare gate reverb

(2)and a gated hall...

the first one has short decay time also in the mix.

while the second one only stops reverberation in silent mix parts

I`m sure you are after the first one.... like the gated reverb in Lex units.? right?

wow, thats a nice device!
normally i'm not the biggest fan of scope reverbs because most of them sounds a bit metallic in my ears.

but this one sounds very harmonic.

big thanks!!!

jep emphazer, glad to hear this.

I spend much time in tuning it,
especially "to fit in the mix".

Its not the most flexible....at this moment

I did many A/B tests with Masterverb and other reverbs and tried to work against their negative sounding aspects.

They even sometimes seem to sound bigger with solo sounds, but when it comes to mixes I realized, I always have the feeling that they don`t fit perfectly.

Thats why I called it Masterplate, you can run it over a mix, giving deepth but without adding a roomish resonances that pop out of a mix.
and it works with very small wet levels already adding nice space.

other reverb designs are already on my harddisc drive... but I try to learn preset handling at first before making a bigger more parameter featuring device.

Brotha' Man HifiBoom,
The snare / tom was probably done using a gated room / stage algorhythm, as the hall would lack early reflections. The actual sound was used in the 70's and '80's by many horn based groups during their mastering. The ER's gave the entire sound a curve of sorts, i.e. the ER's cause the first half of the curve, and the second half was the gate. It is a marvelous effect. It makes a 2 x sax, trumpet, and trombone section sound rather large.

I commend yuou for any attempts made at this elusive patch, where the only unit to pull this off well was the PCM91. The Alesis Q20 w/ ADAT's came in second w/ a gated vocal plate, that gave vocals a serious glistening, especially when an Eventide box was used w/ it.

I really look forward to hearing your reverbs when you decide to make a full fledged device w/ 1000's of parameters !!

Additional info about usage has been also added to the pdf on site 3.

You have a good set of ears my friend. I know that SDK is very involved, and gives reference points, but the ears of the maker are key IMHO.

hifiboom,

Big thanks for this reverb! I like the sound and I think I will use this effect extensively while making my album. Quite good on DSP too!

Cheers!
