Hi all,

OCTAMIX is an 8 mono channel mixer for using in the modular (mod2 & 3). Unlike other mixers available for modular, this one has many of the features that you would expect to find on a small traditional analogue desk, although it does have a few features which are quite unique to Scope. When you try It in modular, I'd expect that everything should be quite self-explanatory.

Below is a screenshot of the I/O module which you'll load in modular ..

Below is a screenshot of the main mixer panel which will open when you click the 'edit' button on the modular module. (click the 'vu' button on the mixer panel to open the meterbridge)

Features:-

- 8 mono channels
- 2 mono inserts per channel
- Pre & post insert clip leds per channel
- 2 Aux sends per channel (pre/post switchable)
- 0-200 sample delay per channel
- Solo & mute buttons per channel
- Channel labelling
- 2 x stereo returns (each with 3 x stereo insert & VU)
- Main mix channel (with 3 x stereo insert & VU)
- Stereo input with gain control.
- Monitor output with gain control.
- Aux panel switchable between Int (2 x insert each) & external (ext).
- Meterbridge featuring post pan VUs for channels 1-8 & STin & Monitor VUs.
- Less than one DSP fully routed.

Enjoy !!

edit:- new version available to download.
-I found an architectural issue that's now fixed.

No, this version is modular only.
There are currently plenty of mixers available for use in Scope including recent & forthcoming mixer releases by Spacef & Wolf, so we don't really think it would be fair to release the routing window version for that reason. Maybe sometime in the future, but more than likely not any time soon.

Everytime I leave town for a vacation somebody releases something and I always get extremely feverish.

This time I am out of town, but my DAWg's are all on a leash.

Shroomz Has Returned. :)

I love this mixer.

Believe it or not I have made my own Patch in Modular using many Flexor III modules. It is a Mono synth for BIG FAT presets using multiple waveform LFO's and Oscillators. I know it's old fashioned, but every wanna-be rapper sit's their ass right in front of my racks.

With your mixer I now route my external hardware analog synth into Modular, as well as the Pro One Vrs.3.0. Octamix adds the desired FX, and pans before it goes to the direct outputs, then to my hardware mixer where the signals go to the powered cabinets and stereo sub. This is well made. I especially like the way you click on the pre / post function, and the custom placement of the external windows. And of course the awesome graphics.

I have some questions about the AUX's. I have placed different stereo effects in the AUX's but cannot get them to work. I sure it's my usual lack of expertise in this area. I have tried the internal / external switch, and cranked the knobs clockwise to no avail.

Other than that, the only thing I know that doesn't function is the MIDI LED. Big fuckin' deal,...I know. But I am thorough. 3rd party developers can attest to my constant ball busting.

Your device has given me better control, and freed up a stereo channel for more ASIO 2 outputs.

ProOne's new filters w/ high resonance values, The sheer obecity of the SE-1x w/ it's Moog / Oberheim S.E.M. 's, and the precision modulation of Flexor III / Modular make this the FATTEST BASTARD known to man. Your mixer adds total control and elagance.

Hat's Off to You Guys Again.

A small explanation of your AUX paths would be appreciated though.

Scope4live, I've just checked the aux's again at this end & they definately work ok here. From your screenshot I can see 2 things that would stop you getting an aux signal:-

1. You don't have any send levels turned up, but I'm guessing you know that.
2. You have the 2nd internal aux insert for send 1 activated without an effect loaded in it. Doing that will cut the audio path. You need to load an insert effect or module designed for loading in insert slots.

The aux signal paths are just the usual mono send (A1 & A2) & stereo return (R1 & R2) config'. I'll refer to the A1/R1 signal path to make things simpler. On the remote aux panel, you can switch between internal or external aux paths. When A1 for example is set to internal, the summed aux signals of A1 are sent through the 2 insert slots, then to the 3 R1 return stage stereo inserts (instead of the stereo R1 return signal), after which, you have the same type of master gain fader as on all other mixer channels (giving you up to +12dB gain if needed). On the R1 return channel, the VU meter displays the R1 signal post fader. On the remote aux panel, the A1 VU meter displays the A1 output signal allowing you to meter the overall A1 send level & avoid clipping. The signal path of A2 & R2 are set up in the same way. I'm quite busy & wrote this out quickly, so I hope that explanation makes sense.

Oh & thanks for the feedback !!

A.O.K. Now.

I shall experiment further.

The external switch clarified things.

I just got back from NoCal and will Scoped out until Wednesday.

Plenty of time to get it right.

Your Modular creations are really trendsetting, and useful.

Keep 'em coming.

BTW, if you have time next week, could you post a pic of one of your Modular screens? I would love to see a patch w/ Multi-Mega, Octamix, etc. It would surely be a beautiful sight,...................A Rembrandt from Scotland.
